Don Norwood, age 75 of Guin, AL passed away Thursday, October 10th, 2024 at the Erlanger Baroness Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.
Members of the Eldridge Toy Run Benefit Team as well as the staff of the Alabama Free Will Baptist Children’s Home and all friends of the Children’s Home would like to send our prayers and condolences to Don’s family.
Don’s favorite hobby was motorcycle riding and his second family was hundreds of friends he came to know over the years. Not only in the United States but Don rode in several countries including Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Canada and others.

Don Norwood has been an integral part of the Eldridge Toy Run for many, many years, since it’s beginning. Don coordinated with the Long Distance Riders. (His longest single ride was to the Artic Circle, which was over 14,000 miles.) When the question is asked “who’s gonna fill their shoes” we can’t answer that question because Don has left such a vital pair to fill,
But we know right now Don is busy celebrating being Home with the Father, but we want him to know, “Don, we love you. We miss you. One day our kick stands will be up to ride your way. Save us a parking spot, dear brother.”
